The results of a meeting this week could determine whether or not a proposal to construct a seven-story building along Avenue E in Bayonne will be allowed to advance.
The project in question, a planned 70-unit residential development, is the subject of an application for Preliminary and Final Major Site Plan approval and a variance related to fencing by developer EOM 90 Ave E Urban Renewal, LLC. On Tuesday, February 11, at 6:00 p.m., the Bayonne Planning Board is scheduled to discuss the matter, which involves the Bayonne Stainless Products property and a multi-family house 90-100 and 100.5-102 Avenue E near East 14th and East 15th Streets. EOM 90 Ave E Urban Renewal became the designated redeveloper of the two tracts back in 2018.
If approved, the building would rise nearly 85 feet over Avenue E and include 70 parking spaces on the premises, bicycle storage, a rooftop terrace, a fitness center, a pool, saunas, and a lobby, according to a legal notice, which mentioned that a “landscaped outdoor recreation center” is also envisioned.
The “EOM” name has become a somewhat common sight when it comes to municipal documents involving Bayonne development. Last year, EOM 554 Broadway Urban Renewal, LLC proposed a seven-story building on Broadway while EOM 462 Broadway LLC previously applied for approvals in connection with a 12-unit development plan near Library Court.
Both 90-100 and 100.5-102 Avenue E were sold in 2019 for over $2 million combined to a company called HLKT 1846 Main Corp. The firm is registered out of an address on Sedgwick Avenue in the Bronx that is associated with several other “EOM” companies and a business run by Noah Friedman called EOM Realty.
